Overview
PlayGoals is a retro gaming companion app that runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our servers. All data stays on your device unless you explicitly share it.
Audio Recording (RECORD_AUDIO)
PlayGoals uses the RECORD_AUDIO permission to capture in-game audio when you save a clip. Audio is captured via Android's AudioPlaybackCapture API, which records only the audio playing on your device (e.g. game sound) — not your microphone or surroundings. Recorded audio is embedded in the video clip you save and stored locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or access your recordings.
Usage & App Data
PlayGoals stores playtime stats, clip metadata, and app preferences locally on your device. If you use RetroAchievements integration, your API key is stored securely in app preferences and used only to fetch achievement data when you request it. We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage statistics.
Third-Party Services
PlayGoals may connect to RetroAchievements.org when you configure your API key to fetch achievement data. Your use of that service is subject to RetroAchievements' own privacy policy. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
